A member asked:

Big toe tingles after surgery, does this mean it's healing?

Possibly healing: Tingling immediately following surgery may just mean that the surgeon anesthetized the big toe with local anesthetic and it is waking up. It could also mean the dressing is too tight. It really depends how long post op you are and what was done. If you are worried, you should not be afraid to call your surgeon's office or emergency number.

Possible: Or the nerve is healing and retuning to normal. If its months after this should be checked for nerve entrapment.

Swelling: There is normally swelling after surgery and toes tingling can represent swelling decreasing after surgery as normal nerve function returns. Good luck.
