Aggressively: Benzoyl peroxide will probably not be sufficient, but apply it while you're waiting to see your physician; you'll need prescription-strength treatment. A topical or systemic antibiotic may be in your future, or a retinoic acid derivative; if this is cystic acne, you will probably be a candidate for Isotretinoin -- powerful stuff and not for the faint-hearted.
