It is not difficult: You need to see your gynecologist or family doctor for a pelvic examination. Cancer of the cervix shows up very easily as a growth on the surface of the cervix, pid does not show up on the surface.

Only tissue biopsy: Sometimes infection can obscure findings and you may need antibiotic treatment for some time before repeat biopsy.
