Dr. Eric Kaplan answered

Specializes in Colon and Rectal Surgery

You need: To see a colorectal surgeon. A thrombosed external hemorrhoid is treated by incision and drainage of the clot under local anesthesia in the doctors office. A simple procedure with excellent results. Also could be an abscess which can be treated same way in office if caught early.
