No: No, that is very unlikely. See a dermatologist to determine the actual cause.

Simply Complex: There are many factors that allow our bodies to heal and a healthy patient should heal any open wounds quickly. When a wound fails to heal, there can be many causes ranging from using medications that prevent healing to other factors such as poor nutrition, circulation, ongoing stress, pressure on the site, etc. A woundcare specialist is trained to look at the many factors and get you heal.

Skin cancer?: Atypical acid fast bacilli often causes sores which do not heal or respond to the usual antibiotics. I always consider the presence of a skin cancer if a sore fails to heal . See a dermatologist. A less likely scenario would be the presence of an immune defect.
