A member asked:

I have an insect bite that is large with a red circle the size of baseball. what can i do for this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Insect bite: If your bite is itchy, take a non-sedating antihistamine like Allegra (fexofenadine) 180 and apply very hot compresses. If it is painful and tender, you have an infected bite and will need an antibiotic. Apply very hot compresses until you can see a doctor. If the lesion is flat and looks like a bull's eye, you may have lyme disease, not something we see very much in florida.
