A member asked:

Does the symptom chest pain mean that i have chronic cardiomyopathy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: Although patients with cardiomyopathy may experience chest pain, the symptom of chest pain does not necessarily indicate that cardiomyopathy is present. If the chest pain is recurrent or persistent, especially if associated with difficulties breathing, you should be evaluated by your primary care physician.
