Virtual appointment: More information may be provided, including uploaded records during a virtual consultation with Healthtap. The discomfort may be related to cardiac conditions, including an irregular heart beat, congestive heart failure or a respiratory condition including a pulmonary embolism. Watch for signs of distress, chest pressure and dizziness. Please follow up, avoid excessive salt intake and monitor BP

Probably unrelated.: Chest pain while taking a deep breath could be unrelated to cardiomyopathy unless there is coexisting pericarditis. Chest pain only occurring with breathing could be caused by injury to chest wall, ribs, pleura, and by arthritis involving the ribs, cartilages etc and may be diagnosed and managed by examination . Please seek help from a patient thorough internist or cardiologist.
