Perirectal infection: The perianal area has alot of skin oil & mucus membrane glands that empty out to the skin. Just as cysts elsewhere on the body (acne, sebacious or hair follicles);can form here. Usually due duct of the gland becoming blocked & allowing bacteria colonizing the area & gland to have a nice culture in wh/to grow & cause an abscess. Rectal tears/hemorrhoids provides home for bacterial multiplicn too.
