Uncertain: It is difficult to ascertain the nature of this rash just by description obviously. There are many causes of this type of rash, but if they are occurring spontaneously then i would seek the care of a medical provider promptly for further evaluation.

What does it mean to express milk by hand?

Pumping by hand: Hand expressing means pumping milk from a breast without using a pump. The woman takes a warm shower or applies a warm cloth to her breast for a few minutes. Then she massages her breast by encircling her breast with both hands at the chest wall and slowly squeezing the breast in towards the nipple. After a couple of minutes, the breast will start discharging milk and this can caught in a cup.

I slammed my hand in my car door and now my nail is black. Is this a nail disease?

Most a blood bruise: By traumatizing the sensative nailbed, you have likely caused a bruise/blood collection under the nail.In the 1st 24-48hrs drs often release the pressure by creating a small hole in the nail with a hot needle allowing the blood pool to escape, limiting what will be a long term blood stain on the underside of the nail. The nail grows out slowly ~1-2 mm/mo & a new nail should emerge from the nailbed.

What happens if you broke your hand and it's already been couple months without treatment?

Dr. Annette Occhialini

Limited choices: A hand fracture several months old that has been untreated has limited options that depend on the problem that has resulted. If there is a deformity or functional loss to the hand/finger than your only choice may be to see a hand surgeon and have surgery to "rebreak" and straighten the healed fracture.

That's the name: Hand care/hand surgery developed as a sub-specialty during the second world war; we have no latin name. Hand surgeons come from orthopaedics, plastic and general surgery; we have additional training in the upper limb beyond our post-graduate residency. We treat problems of nerve, vessel, bone, joint, skin; we treat the upper limb and hand as a functional unit... And work with hand therapists.

It certainly may: The break (fracture) extends into a joint itself in an adult. In such cases it may be very important to restore the joint by surgery. In children it is not rare that both forearm bones are broken like a green stick snapping (we call these "greenstick" fractures); usually treated well in a cast, often including the elbow. In adults, "both bone" forearm fractures usually require surgery to fix.
