How to take care of my feet with type 1 diabetes?

See below: Wear shoes and socks rather than sandals. If you get calluses, try to get rid of them. Keep your feet clean. The best thing you can do is to get your sugar levels in control.

Regular Care: It is important that diabetics have a team to care for them as an entire being. That team includes you! check your feet daily for any areas of redness, irritation or open wounds. If you can not do this yourself, have a family member help. If you have any, see a physician immediately. You should have an annual foot exam if you have no deformities or other complications - more frequently if you do.
