It depends: If you're very deficient you may want an iron supplement that contains this much iron. The daily reference intake for men is 8mg/day; for women 8-18mg/day. But these are for people with no iron loss. Your doctor may want you to use this higher 28 mg dosage for a time. It can may you nauseated, so please take with meals.
