Different locations: Carpal tunnel surgery is performed around the wrist, and trigger finger surgery is further out in the palm. Both problems can be addressed surgically at the same time.

Separate incisions: It is very common for people with carpal tunnel to have associated trigger fingers and visa versa. Both surgeries are typically done through small incisions independent of one another, but given that the anesthesia and rehabilitation are similar (early motion), these two procedures often do well with one another and are often performed in the same setting, if they co-exist at the time of surgery.
