Cortisol surge: In the morning there is a cortisol surge that is associated with higher heart rate and blood pressure in the mornings... This does not mean that this increase in heart rate and blood pressure is supposed to sustain throughout the day. Talk to your doctor if you are concerned... Especially if the heart rate stays above 100 for an extended period of time.
