Is it infected?: Are you sure it's infected? An infection in your wrist joint is a surgical emergency that is treated with a washout. You most likely have just inflammation after an injury. That should resolve in 6 weeks.

Until cured: Synovial fluid infection can destroy the joint unless treated aggressively with drainage and antibiotics.
