History and exam: Bv is a vaginal infection related to 'anaerobic bacteria'. It is associated with a vaginal discharge, possible burning and an odor. Your doctor can easily diagnose this with an exam, measurement of vaginal ph (which is elevated) and culture. This is easily treated!

By a check up: Bacterial vaginosis is one of the common vaginal infections women get. Symptoms include vaginal irritation, a grey discharge and a fishy odor. The ways to diagnose this includes a wet mount - looking at the discharge under a microscope, checking the ph and checking for odor when KOH is added. Another test is a dna test and a third way is by culture. These are done during an exam.
