Yes: One of the ways the Depo-Provera shot works is by inhibiting ovulation; however, random testing is a poor way to asses this as the timing is unpredictable.

It will not help: If you are on depoprovera (the birth control shot), urine ovulation tests will be useless. Since you are likely not having menses, there is no way to know when to test for the lh surge (which is what ovulation kits do). A negative ovulation test will not tell you anything useful.
