Acne returns: Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) can control mild acne. When you are off, acne returns. So you need to see derm to have acne treatment, if you don't want to go back to yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol).

This may be hormonal: Of course this may be hormonal. However, i believe most acne can be treated locally. I try to avoid taking any medication unless it is absolutely necessary. Things like topical antibiotics, tretinoin, good exfoliation and avoidance of over-the-counter cosmetics is a very good start. Please try to find a doctor that believes in good skin care over taking medications and start there.

Hormone imbalance?: The cause of most acne is sebum. Sebum blocks pores, attracts bacteria and results in inflammation. Acne is treated by cleansing, exfoliating dead skin cells, eliminating bacteria, and reducing sebum. In some adults, acne occurs because of an imbalance between male(testosterone) and female(estrogen) hormones in the body. Bcp's can reduce this type of acne as they smooth out any hormonal imbalance.
