Go to a doc: He needs to keep tight control of his diabetes. Better sugar control by monitoring sugars closely daily. He likely has polyneuropathy where he doesnt have full feelings in his foot and decreased wound healing from the diabetes. See your physician before the wound gets infected and spreads and strongly encourage tight blood sugar control. If the infection spreads it can cause infection in the bone.

Wound: Please seek medical attention for any wounds that are present or develop. The chance of infection and delayed wound healing are decreased by seeking medical attention sooner then later.
