Think about it: I'm straight, but transgender makes more sense to me than being gay. If you identify with the opposite sex from birth, you will naturally want to be that sex. The object of your affection would then be similar to what straight folk pursue, i.e. The "opposite sex". Either way, we must be open minded. "live and let live".

Not About "Becoming": It's about "being." not even one of the many gender diverse kids/teens/adults i know/have known would say they "became transgender." in fact, they'd all say they were born w/ a gender identity that didn't match the gender they were assigned at birth - when they were introduced 2 the world w/ an "it's a boy!" or an "it's a girl!" some did & some didn't understand the mismatch at young age.
