Make visit: The main concern with hernias is that they can cause obstruction/partial obstruction and if you have a symptomatic hernia then it needs to be fixed. Please make a visit today with your pcp or general surgeon if you have one. If pain returns you may need to go to hospital. Either way evaluation today is the answer. Good luck.

See below: If the hernia has reduced (gone back in) and the pain is gone, should not need a hospital visit at this time. If the hernia is still protruding or if there is still pain please get it checked now. In any event, with those significant symptoms you should probably have it fixed soon.
