Eye allergies: Patanol (olopatadine) is a very effective eye drop for allergies. It is meant to be effective when used twice per day. If you need more treatment than that, you may want to try using an over-the-counter allergy medication by mouth. Many of these medications, however, may make you sleepy, so try taking your first dose at the end of your day so that you can determine how sleepy it makes you.

Itchy eyes: These are safe but you should also consider using a prescription nasal spray to assist with the nasal symptoms which usually contributes greatly to the eye symptoms.
