URTICARIA: A lot of time we prescribe meds, many of them are life saving, but package insert says, "not tested in children, check with your doctor", etc. The reason is, these drugs were tested in adult volunteers only during clinical trial , children volunteers were not available. Like, most risky new drugs are tested on animals initially, not in humans. Fexofenadine can be used for a child as young as 6 mo.
