Fasciculations: Fasciculations are muscle contractions easily seen by the naked eye. This condition usually is secondary to degeneration of parts of the spinal cord. They can be seen with als, spinal dystrophies, polio, and dilations of the central fluid canal within the spinal cord (syrinx). They are not typically seen with "slipped discs.".
