A member asked:

Would hyperkalemia be a cause of muscle twitches/fasiculations?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

High levels: of potassium can cause muscle cramps, but low levels (Hypokalemia) are more likely to cause fasciculation or muscle twitches in the proximal muscles near tendon fibers. Other causes include hypomagnesemia (low Magnesium), hypercalcemia (high Calcium) and dehydration.
