Several reasons: Could be neurological from carpal tunnel to other nerve compressions in the arm shoulder or neck. If this occurs with color changes it might be a vascular issue possibly raynauds syndrome since ther are some other more serious possibilities too you better talk to a physical medicine or orthopedic specialist about it.
