Sleeping hand: When a person says their hand is asleep, they often mean the sensation is reduced, or that it feels as if it is touched by pins and needles. Is this what you mean? Most causes of this symptom are not serious. In assessment of your case, you should have had a careful interview, physical exam, nerve conduction study and possible an MRI of the brain and/or spinal cord. These should find the cause
