What does prostate cancer look like?

Cancer or tumor: Of the prostate typically is a slow growing nodule within the prostate. The gleason grade helps to stratify the tumors that are higher grade from lower grade slower growing tumors. Some cancers can be palpated on exam. Higher grade tumors may be more aggressive and may be less likely to form a mass. The psa test may be helpful in the appropriate clinical setting.

Change in urination: Usually it is diagnosed by an elevated psa on routine bloodwork, but it can be associated with abnormal urination symptoms like incomplete voiding, frequency, or urgency.
