Migraines: Absolutely they are linked. In many people with chronic migraines a brain MRI will reveal small white spots, or small vessel disease. This is extremely common. It is best to get a good neurologist and may be helpful to see an interventional pain specialist that works with headache sufferers. I'm a believer in comprehensive care and would try chiro, acupuncture, diet, meds... Hope this helps.

No: Exact cause of migraines is unknown. However during migraine blood vessels dilate and pain is severe during this phase.
