Yes: Noncontrast ct is the most sensitive and specific noninvasive exam for finding kidney stones. Mri (more specifically mr urogram) may find them, as well, but it is less common to order this test.

Stones: No dye ct scan is best test for kidney stones.

CT: It is very unlikely that you would find a small kidney stone on mri. Ct without contrast is the way to go.
