Starvation BUT: even that is controversial. the blockages in arteries are fat deposits. Things that lower fat deposits lower this. Loss of fat with starvation was the original observation (lower heart disease with starvation around WWII--"the seven countries survey" was the initial observation taht started all this). BUT exercise is much more reliable way to prevent heart disease.
