Rashes: Small red dots any where on the body could be petechiae and should be evaluated by a doctor. Rashes are impossible to diagnose without seeing them. Petechiae are small (1-2mm) red or purple spots on the body, caused by a minor hemorrhage (broken capillary blood vessels). See attached picture. Unlike most other red rashes they do not go away with pressure. Petechiae always require evaluation.
