Prostate exam plus: A prostate massage is performed in the same way a prostate exam is performed. It is a finger exam, into the rectum. After examining the surface of the prostate, the md will push on the back of the prostate in a methodical fashion. Men may experience a strong urge to urinate and sometimes some burning. They are unlikely to leak urine during it. Usually lasts no more than 20-30 seconds.
