Guarded prognosis: When both pupils are dilated and non-reactive, this is a sign of brainstem compression. This may come from tbi, aneurysm, stroke to name a few. To have pupils dilated and non-reactive suggests that there has been enough injury to affect the brainstem and its recovery.
