Side effects: This is not a good combination because the alcohol will potentiate the side effects of ambien (zolpidem). This could result in somnambulism or respiratory suppression at worst. If taking Ambien (zolpidem) i would eliminate alcohol consumption to maximize safety. If you take Ambien (zolpidem) every night you may want to explore approaches that will reduce reliance on medicine as recent research suggests this may not be healthy.
