It can...: Neosporin can be effective against staph. It is able to kill Staphylococcus aureus (methicillin-sensitive strains, MSSA), and other bacteria, however, it is not able to kill certain strains of Staphylococcus aureus such as strains with methicillin-resistance (MRSA). For anything other than a minor wound, you should consult with your doctor.
