Might be early: Depending on the length of your cycle, and when you ovulated, it is possible that you might detect HCG on a blood test at this point. If the test were negative, however, at that point, i would not assume that it was negative.

May be too early: You can do the test, but it is likely too early for a reliable result. You should do the blood test the day after you miss your period. For home pregnancy test, it would be better to do it 4-5 days after a missed period.
