Could be dryness: A crawling sensation, as in feeling like something is in the eye? This can be from dryness or allergies. You can try artificial tears over the counter or an allergy eye drop like zaditor (ketotifen). Stay away from visine and clear-eyes.

Eye sensitivity: The eye is very, very sensitive. Many different stimuli can cause pronounced sensations in and around the eye. You would need to have a thorough eye exam to see what may be causing any particular sensation.
