Menstrual cycle: In a regular menstrual cycles, it takes 10 - 12 days for the follicle to grow big enough, 24 - 48 hours after a lh surge to ovulate, and, if the egg isn't fertilized, you will typically have your menstrual cycle 12 - 14 days after ovulation. In women with irregular cycles as you describe, it is hard to predict when ovulation occurs. I would monitor your next several cycles to see if this continues.
