Partner takes oxycontin for severe back pain. can this affect sperm adversely as we are trying for baby?

OxyContin and sperm: Oxycontin may cause a lower testosterone or other hormone levels, but has no known effects on sperm count. Erectile dysfunction could occur, but that s a different problem. Females taking any opioids may change the baby's pain response due to alteration in endorphin /enkephalins , but this is theory.

Testosterone: Chronic opiate use has been associated with lower testosterone levels. Long acting medications like Oxycontin and MS-Contin have been shown to do this more than the rapid acting opiates.
