Maybe: Hypertrophy is thickening of the heart & is not always genetic. Longstanding hypertension can lead to hypertrophy & treatment of hypertension could help prevent progression. There is no effective cure for genetic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy at this time, however certain group of patients may benefit from pacemaker or defibrillator, or procedures to reduce the thickness of the heart muscle.

Unfortunately : There's no cure. However, most people with mild condition are asymptomatic and live long, healthy lives. Usual symptoms from hcm include chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitation, dizziness, fatigue, fainting. If u know someone who has hcm, advise their siblings to have a heart work up - ekg, echo.
