No: Jaundice will not cause changes to skin color. Jaundice is cause by too much bilirubin in the blood. Skin color is determined by pigments (melanin) made by skin cells.

Temporary: The jaundiced appearance of an infant represents bilirubin, a waste product molecule, that is temporarily attached to the fat cells beneath the skin but visable when light & bounces off the molecule. A similar effect occurs when babies get interested in yellow vegatables due to attached vit a. This fades over time. Skin color is derived from pigment cells within the skin.
