RAST: Test detect allergies and can quantify the amount to some extent however they are not always clinically significant to your life . That is why you have to work with your allergist to figure out which ones are really bugging you

It should: The rast test will look for specific antibodies that can cause allergic reactions and this should pick up severe allergies. Have you already an elisa test? Hope that helps and best of luck!

Yes, but: A radioallergosorbent test (rast) is a blood test used to determine to what substances a person is allergic.This is different from a skin allergy test, which determines allergy by the reaction of a person's skin to different substances. More sensitive fluorescence enzyme-labeled assays are now recommended.

Not necessarily: The degree of reactions either by allergy skin testing or blood test (immunocap ige has mostly replaced the older rast) has no bearing to the severity of the disease. However the higher the score the more likely one would get a positive challenge response. Do note that blood tests are more prone to have false-negative results meaning that the test may be negative to a real allergen for the pt.
