Terminal ulcer: A kennedy ulcer is a sign of being close to death. It generally develops in the sacral area as a result of low blood flow to dependent body areas. As death approaches, blood flow decreases to all vital organs including the skin. There are color changes, cool extremities, a decrease in urine output, drop in bp, mental changes and ultimately death.

Kennedy ulcer: A kennedy terminal ulcer is a specific type of pressure related injury in patients who may be in a terminal state. The literature is still being developed around this type of skin ulceration. While what you were told could be perfectly true, too many ulcers are labelled as kennedy ulcers without proper verification and understanding.
