See below: Very young mothers have a higher incidence of fetal mortality, prematurity, lower birth weight, and higher neonatal deaths than older mothers. This is in part due to poor prenatal care, but is also though to be due to biological immaturity of the mother. Please discuss the care of this teenager with your local pediatrician.
