A nerve: The genitofemoral nerve is a single nerve, about the diameter of a piece of spaghetti. It splits into a genital branch and a femoral branch. In males, the genital branch innervates the cremaster muscle and part of the scrotal skin. As with most nerves large enough to have a name, it is composed of a bunch of nerve fibers, also known as axons.
