Keratosis pilaris?: If you are talking about numerous asymptomatic, firm red bumps on the outsides of your arms, then it sounds like you are describing keratosis pillars. Keratosis pilaris is a common condition that is associated with dry skin and retention of dead skin cells around the follicles. It is not dangerous and should be managed with moisturization and gentle care. Avoid excessive scrubbing or picking.

Several causes: A contact dermatitis or an infection of the hair follicles or a tinea (fungal) are the most common causes. See your doctor for a diagnosis and treatment.
