Depends: The endocervix is the inside of your cervix and has a different cell type than the outside of your cervix. Usually a pap smear that is done in a woman with a cervix will have an endocervical component meaning that the cells inside the cervix were also sampled. This is an indicator that a good sample was obtained. Usually if the pap smear was in adequate and needed to be repeated the pathologist would have stated that on the report.
