No: Bowel irregularity does not cause you to gain weight. If you are going less frequently than every 3 days, you should consider using a stool softener or a bulking agent like metamucil.

May be normal: Some people go once in three days. That is normal. If you have hard stools you may need a stool softener. Irregular bowel movements does not known to cause weight gain.
