1-3 days: The onset of MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) is usually 1-3 days. Remember, it is an osmotic agent that draws water into the stool and hence makes it easier to have a bowel movement.

Either time if good.: If you haven't had a bowel movement and are using MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) now try it now if it is early in the day. If it is later then try it in the evening. If no effects by morning then repeat a dose.

Few days: not really laxative to induce bowel contractions but a nonabsorbable material that cause the stools to become softer, and lubricates the bowel to cause easier passage of stool

Hours to days.: Miralax (polyethylene glycol) works by absorbing water from the colon allowing it to move easier through the bowel and pass the stool. It probably needs to be taken daily to be effective . It is not like milk of magnesia or citrate of mnagnesia, which should only take few hours to be effective.
